We are pleased to announce that CCCRC has selected Sarah Tinsley as the new Head Coach for the NCS crew team. After an extensive search that included contacting top collegiate, high school and club programs across the country, Sarah’s name consistently rose to the top due to her positive coaching style, enthusiasm, creativity, and competitiveness. Sarah is a US Junior National Team Virtual Training coach and comes to us from the Saratoga Rowing Association where she was the Varsity Boys Head Coach and Volunteer Coordinator. Most recently, she coached the Junior Men’s Lightweight 8+ to a bronze medal at the 2019 USRowing Youth Nationals and took the U19 men’s junior 2x through USRowing trials to represent the US at Junior Worlds in Tokyo, Japan. Prior to that position, she worked as a collegiate coach at USC, North Park University, and Washington University. In addition to collegiate experience, she has experience coaching girls at Artemis Rowing Club and the St Louis Rowing Club. She comes highly recommended from notable members of the rowing community and has the unanimous support of the Board, NCS Athletic Director Heather Dent, and STA Head Crew Coach Ted Haley.
Despite the cancelled spring racing season, the CCCRC athletes continue to work incredibly hard both on and off the water. Many of the CCCRC athletes PR’d this spring on the erg and some have taken up rowing in singles and doubles/pairs on the Potomac. Although all yearn to see six eights across speeding down a racecourse, we remain grateful for what limited rowing is available now and focused on the health and safety of our families while preparing for a strong season next year.
We hope that everyone is having a safe and healthy summer.
