Last year, CCCRC embarked upon a Capital Equipment Campaign with the goal to raise $125,000 to fund the purchase of new boats for the rowing team and to refurbish currently owned boats. The campaign was a tremendous success, and the club was able to purchase three new boats. After careful consideration and voting by the CCCRC community, the following names for the new boats are:
Resilience – Midweight 4+ (in honor of the strength and courage the ’20, ’21 and ’22 teams demonstrated during the pandemic)
Edward Haley – Midweight 8+ (in honor of the boys’ varsity coach and club founder)
Paul Berry – Lightweight 8+ (in honor of the team’s strength and conditioning coach)
It is customary for the team to have a “Blessing of the Boats” as they are put into service. We have scheduled the ceremony for Saturday, April 22, 2023 following the TBC Tussle regatta. We anticipate the race will conclude by noon followed by the Blessing ceremony from 12:30 -1:30 p.m.
We hope you will join us!
